Domino’s Pizza has handed over a cheque for more than $2000 to Andrew Field and his family after hosting a successful Raise Some Dough fundraising campaign in June.
Earlier this year, Andrew was diagnosed with a fast-growing and aggressive brain tumour classed as Stage 4 Glioblastoma (GBM).
Andrew’s father Russell Field said Domino’s Pizza reached out to the family after seeing Andrew’s Go Fund Me page.
“It was tremendous for such a known company to reach out and offer such support,” he said.
“We have always supported Domino’s and it is great to see they are a company that supports the community.”
The fundraiser was called ‘Raise Some Dough’ and involved a dollar from every pizza sold on June 28 going to Andrew Field, his wife and three children.
The contributing stores included Domino’s Redland Bay, Mount Cotton, Victoria Point, Cleveland, Capalaba, Birkdale, Wynnum West and Manly West.
Domino’s Pizza was able to hand over a cheque for $2730 to Andrew and his parents Russell and Ann Field.
In 2021, Andrew’s brother Matt Field was killed along with his wife Kate Leadbetter and their unborn child Miles after they were struck by a stolen car at Alexandra Hills.
Russell said he was grateful for all the support from the community after being faced with another tragedy.
“Matt and Andrew both lived in the Redlands, and it is lovely to see that the Redlands community will support anyone no matter who is in need,” he said.
“Andrew, his family and I are very appreciative of this gesture.”
