Theatre imitates life in Mates Theatre Genesis Inc’s production of Swingers by April Phillips showing at the Donald Simpson Community Centre until May 14.
Swingers features three golf buddies who since retirement, are spending increasingly more time on the golf course and at the 19th hole.
Their long-suffering golf widows have had enough and plot to put some passion back into their golden years.
Can these old timers get their marriages out of the bunker or will golf drive a wedge between them?
Directed by Adelle O’Connell and Kath Kunde, the cast includes a mix of experienced and new actors.
Trevor Bond plays the cantankerous Ralph, Diana Goulski is his bored frumpy wife Mabel, John Evans is the dapper George, Helen McKenzie Ross plays the meek and mild Flo, Bryan Weir is the easy-going Archie and Traci Sumpter makes her acting debut as the flamboyant Pam.
Final performances are on May 12 at 7.30pm and at 2pm on May 14.
