Redland singer-songwriter Jake Murdoch, 13, will launch his new single Every1 Loves U in Tokyo this August.
The launch follows a Japanese visit in May where Jake toured five cities doing 12 shows and meeting with two mayors.
While there, Jake was on cable television in Tokyo and featured in another major news publication.
During that time, he recorded the new pop song Every1 Loves U and its music video which he will launch on his return.
Jake said he wrote the song for a Japanese audience where he has his strongest fan base on TikTok and Instagram.
“In Australia we have ballads and folk songs. Japan likes the more pop-py song, more high energy which is what Every1 Loves U is,” he said.
On the home front, Jake is also working on a second song collaboration with Andrew Farriss.
His mother Natalie said the first song was registered at 50/50 with Apra Amcos.
“This is just so incredible to scroll down and see Andrew Farriss and Michael Hutchence on all these other songs and then there is Jake – Jake with Australia’s music royalty and one of the greatest song writers,” Natalie said.
Besides the two songs, Jake has now played twice with Andrew on stage with his band and stayed at his home for recordings three days in October last year.
Jake is also one of the performers at this year’s Redfest on the main stage at 2.45pm on September 2. Also on that date, he will play at the Matsuri Japanese festival.
In line with his regular song release of the 20th of the month, the new song will be available as a free download from August 20 with an English and Japanese version. It is free on Soundcloud
