A love of the music of Roy Orbison and a friendship with eldest son Wesley is evident when John Stephan sings the hits, on the RPAC stage at 2pm on August 20.

John is one of the few to bring the hits alive and the only endorsed by the family to do so.

Now Sydney based, John lived in America for about 20 years, eight of them in Nashville. There he got to know Vince Gill and through him Welsey Orbison.

“I happened to sing Crying in a show, not knowing the Orbison family was in the wings,” he said.

“We decided to create a show and take it to Las Vegas so that people could hear how great the music is.”

And now, the show continues to tour periodically, each time tweaked to encompass the great number of Orbison hits.

“This show pays homage to the man and the music,” John said.

“I sing the songs as myself, but in the style that Roy did them.”

Tickets to You Got It – a Salute to Roy Orbison are $79.90 for adults and $74.90 for seniors, with discount for RAMP member prices.

Book on 3829 8131 or tickets.rpac.com.au.
