There will be a chance to meet actor Darren Gilshenan at the pre-release screening of Christmas film A Savage Christmas, coming to Cineplex, Victoria Point at 4pm on November 19.

Darren will be joined by producer Ben McNeill and writer/producer Daniel Mulvihill at a question-and-answer session at the end of the fil – a one-off opportunity exclusive to Cineplex Victoria Point.

The film revolves around the Savage family which holds Christmas at the decadent Gold Coast family home.

Empty nesters James Sr and Brenda greet their adult children, trans-woman Davina with trans-partner Kane, mentally ill gambler Jimmy Jnr, and newly separated pill-popper mum Leia.

Enter Uncle Dick in full Santa regalia who kickstarts the opening of unwelcome gifts while Brenda struggles with the Christmas turkey.

As family secrets come to light, the day descends into chaos. It’s not the Christmas they want, but perhaps it’s the one most needed.

A Savage Christmas is rated M for mature themes and coarse language. It recently screened at the Brisbane International Film Festival.

WIN TIX: The Redland City News has five double passes (value $20 each) to give away to the screening. Send entries to linda.muller@redlandcitynews.com.au. Names will be left at the cinema.
